I’m not going to lie to you, this title, as well as several others for (certain) blog posts, were automatically generated when I started this blog….and I intend to speak about (some) of these topics because, well, they’re important.

Now I come from a weird generation, where I’m young enough to be all too comfortable with newly emerging technologies, but I also rememebr a time when technology wasn’t always available at your literal fingertips…as a matter of fact, I vividly rememebr the day my mom got our first desktop computer, and practicing typing with mavis beacon.

When that technology first appeared, we simply saw it as a mild form of entertainment and a way to send professional messages more efficiently (emails > faxes).

Fast forward to today, and it’s taken over everything. Google and YouTube have more daily users than there are Americans, and the average person spends more time online than they do at the dinner table on any given day.

I’m saying all of that to say that smartphones, social media, and the internet hs completely changed the way we operate as human beings.

It’s changed how we meet people, who we acquire social proof from, and more than anything, it’s changed our overall perceptions of the world.

Social media used to be a place where we’d share small wins in our lives, and watch the occasional silly video, but now it’s a place where people receive their news, recipes, and discover new products.

Social media is a tool. A tool not just for improving your own life, but also for some to influence others.

That’s why I’m an advocate for moderation.
