One of the most challenging things I ever did as an entrepreneur was join a professional networking group.

Now, before I tell you all about my personal experiences, let me lead with this: the average extrovert will make $400K more in their lifetime than their introverted counterpart.

The game of entrepreneurship heavily depends on your ability to acquire new customers, and the easiest way to acquire new customers is to make new connections. The more often you talk to new faces, the more likely you are to find a new client. After all, the best form of marketing still is, and always has been, word of mouth.

Now, back in 2022, I joined a professional networking group for the first time and saw it as an opportunity to do nothing more than acquire new leads. Imagine my surprise when it also ended up being a wonderful way for me to make friends with like-minded people, and a great opportunity for me to work on my public speaking week after week. I admit that there were responsibilities that came with joining that group that 100% required time to be invested, but the trade-off (in my opinion) was completely worth it.

Just to recap (because this post is probably a mess)

I highly recommend joining a networking group because:

1) Word of mouth is the best form of marketing

2) You’ll get the opportunity to work on your charisma and public speaking skills

3) You’ll likely make wonderful friends along your journey

4) Your earning potential skyrockets when you join one.

Thanks for reading my rambling. I’ll see you in the next post or whatever, I guess. – Javon
